Summer Updates

Now that the warm weather is finally here our amazing Team Awesome peeps are glad to get some miles extra in. The next big event they're looking forward to is a 200-mile relay from Wisconsin to Chicago this weekend. This will be an incredibly challenging race where 8 enthusiastic members of Team Awesome are running. Help Team Awesome reach their fundraising goal.

The next event we're excited to share with you is a book talk with TSWGO's Director, Lori Earl, as she discusses the life and words of her daughter, Esther on June 11, 11 am-12 pm, in Braintree, MA. This event is free, but reservations are required.

Finally! TSWGO is going to continue our tradition of setting up booths at both VidCon and GeekyCon. Support TSWGO, and say hello in the Exhibit Halls!

Esthertines for Valentines!

Valentines Day is quickly approaching, and you might be thinking, "I don't know what to get for my special someone."  You might also be moaning, "I don't have a special someone!"  Well, never fear--TSWGO to the rescue!  Esther Day isn't until August 3rd, but why not celebrate on February 14?!  TSWGO will mail out a physical card, handwritten and signed, to the person of your choice expressing your heartfelt, non-romantic love and gratitude--you can even send one to yourself!  Hurry and fill out the form below; requests will be accepted through February 10th. Make Valentines Day even better by donating to help TSWGO carry out its mission for children with cancer.

Thank you and farewell, Celine

From our earliest days as a foundation, This Star Won't Go Out has been blessed with amazing volunteers.  Only a few short months after our start, Celine Sanborn joined our staff as an intern.  After a year of "interning" it seemed silly to keep calling the person running our social media, shooting photographs and videos, and creating beautiful videos an intern!  So, along with Emily, Celine became one of our earliest staff members.  Our media pages are filled with her lovely work.  Celine has always been able to draw an excellent emotional quality out of the children she filmed and photographed, and you can see it in her work.

Time moves us all along, and this year Celine has decided to step back from her role with TSWGO, due to the time she has needed to commit to her senior projects and final classes.  Still, she jumped in to help out with Project for Awesome, creating a beautiful video based on her interview with Keegan that helps to tell the story of TSWGO.

We send our huge thanks to Celine for the heart, sensitivity, and care she has expended in her time with This Star Won't Go Out.  We want to thank her for all of her ideas, and for investing her many skills into helping to make This Star Won't Go Out what it is today!  Please feel free to send Celine your good wishes in comments and tweets.
